As technology spreads into our daily lives, our distance from reality and each other increases - creating a desire for community and a hunger for a more meaningful & colourful existence; In this collection of films, I challenge the day to day mundanities of our time, a window to another world where the land and it’s people devour each other.
Binding west-country temperament with classical compositions of pre-20th century genre painting, I will document a series of moments with a troop of co-conspirators - highlighting their artistic alignment and tribal togetherness. I will also interrogate the consumerist ideologies and structures that shape our modern society. How do we reconnect to the natural world, to our communities and to ourselves? What does it mean to be free, happy and fulfilled in the 21st century?
